Always switched on.
Always strong.
Always holding it together for others and for myself.
I built my career in executive and senior leadership roles, operating in high-pressure, high-performance environments where results were non-negotiable and excellence was the norm.
Long hours. High expectations. Constant responsibility.
I knew how to succeed in business, lead teams and deliver results when the stakes were high.
On the outside, I was capable, unbreakable, even unstoppable.
And in many ways, I still am.
But somewhere along the way, I had become completely disconnected from myself.
I was constantly sacrificing time for achievement, striving harder, pushing further and overriding what my body was telling me just to keep up with the demands of success.
I could achieve externally.
But I wasn't achieving internally.
And what I've come to understand is this: it wasn't random.
From birth, our nervous system adapts to our environment to help keep us safe. We learn behaviours, emotional responses and beliefs based on what felt predictable, what helped us belong and what we needed to do to feel safe. But not everything we carry begins with us. Intergenerational patterns can be passed down, meaning some influences on our stress responses and sense of safety may be present even before we’re conceived.
These early adaptations aren't wrong.
They're intelligent.
They're protection.
But what once helped us cope, can over time become what keeps us stuck.
We don't automatically outgrow these patterns.
We carry them into adulthood, often without even realising and they’ll show up differently for everyone.
Overthinking.
People pleasing.
Weak boundaries.
Seeking approval.
Perfectionism.
Avoiding conflict.
Suppressing emotions.
Seeking control.
Overgiving.
Always performing.
Sometimes they're obvious. And sometimes they're so familiar that we mistake them for who we are.
I was functioning on the outside.
Feeling different on the inside.
My body had been speaking to me for years.
Insomnia became constant. My gut was permanently bloated, swollen and held tension I couldn't release. I was tired but couldn't truly turn off. Stillness didn't feel natural.
Slowing down wasn't how I lived.
Balance wasn't in my vocabulary.
And being truly present in my body? I didn't know how.
You see, my baseline was always fight, flight or freeze.
I had become really good at thinking, doing, operating and putting my own needs aside.
And I was terrible at stopping. Or feeling.
Especially feeling the things I didn't know what to do with.
The emotions I couldn't express.
The things I had pushed down.
The parts of my life I had simply learned to move past.
I’d spent over four decades learning how to keep going.
But I hadn't learned how to let go.
Then someone said something that changed everything for me.
That someone was a naturopath who told me I was blocked.
She said if I don’t release, there was no space for anything new to come in.
Whether you call it trauma, stored emotions, stress or simply everything you've accumulated through life, the message landed.
I had been carrying A LOT.
I just couldn’t think my way through it.
I needed to feel it but I didn’t know how to come down from it. I tried everything and nothing worked.
That's when I found 9D Breathwork.
At the time, intuitively, it felt right.
Logically and practically?
It didn't make sense at all!
But something shifted.
Breath by breath, I began to access places within myself that I had spent years avoiding, suppressing or simply never knowing how to reach.
Grief started to dissipate.
Shame loosened.
What I couldn't express finally had somewhere to go.
My body felt safe.
And what I began to understand was that breathwork doesn't force anything.
We just notice how we’re really feeling because we're finally paying attention.
And when we start paying attention, a different relationship with ourselves becomes possible.
Because when you've spent your life living from the neck up, your body can become somewhere you visit rather than somewhere you live.
And that's why Ezy Breath was born.
Because I know I’m not the only one.
We all carry patterns. Some are easy to recognise. Others sit quietly beneath the surface, influencing how we respond to relationships, pressure and ourselves.
And we carry more than we realise, or would like to admit.
That's why I believe this work matters, not just for individuals, but for groups, teams and communities too.
Life can get busy. We move from work to home, from one responsibility to the next, often without stopping to notice how we're actually feeling.
Give your team, community or workplace an opportunity to pause, breathe and check in with themselves.
Ezy Breath creates that space.
Teams can reset and groups can connect differently.
There's no expectations. Just show up as you are and give yourself permission to experience what happens when you slow down and allow your body to be a part of the process.
Your breath is your anchor.
Your medicine.
Your way home.
